Biography:
Steven Chu-Hong Hoi
received his Bachelor
degree in
Computer Science from
Tsinghua
University in 2002, Beijing, P.R.China, and his M.Phil and Ph.D degrees
in
Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004
and 2006, under the supervision of
Prof. Michael R. Lyu.
Research Interests:
My research
focus on statistical machine learning with applications to
multimedia information retrieval, web search and data mining,
etc. There are two critical challenges: the semantic gap between
low-level feature representation and high-level human perception,
and the integration of multiple resources toward effective
learning. I am interested in studying efficient machine learning
algorithms to solve these challenges, with more emphases of
exploiting user's
information and a unified learning framework.
