Lunchtime English Club

This is an informal English study group.  In each session, we will introduce to you some high-quality English Language program, such as BBC's "Yes, Prime Minister", or PBS's "The Elegant Universe".  We believe that a good way to learn intermediate-to-advanced-level English is to immerse yourselves in an (possibly virtual) English Language environment, and watching high-quality English Language TV programs, movies, or documentaries is one such means of immersion.  Hey, this is a fun way to learn English -- and to enrich yourselves!

Initially, we planned to run the Club for only four weeks.  But since the responses have been quite good, we are extending the program for another month (at least):
  1. Apr 12 Thursday 12:30-1:15
  2. Apr 19 Thursday 12:30-1:15
  3. Apr 26 Thursday 12:30-1:15
  4. May  3 Thursday 12:30-1:15
  5. May 10 Thursday 12:30-1:15
  6. May 17 Thursday 4:30-6:30 pm (Room 1027)
  7. (May 24 is skipped because of holiday)
  8. May 31 Thursday 4:30-5:30 pm
  9. Jun 7 Thursday 4:30-5:30 pm
  10. Jun 14 Thursday 4:30-5:30 pm
No registration is needed.  Just come if you are free.  (CS&E graduate students will receive meeting announcement from our Department's email alias.  If you are outside the circle CS&E graduate students (e.g. you are an undergraduate or you are in another department), you can email me (see below) to have your name registered to a separate mailing list.

The Club event will be on every Thursday 12:30-1:15 pm.  If you want to participate in the Club's activities, but the time slot is not good for you.  Please write to me (clement AT cse DOT cuhk DOT edu DOT hk).

Student helpers are welcome.  I can't pay you, but I believe you may learn something by helping out :-)  ("Blessed are those who can give.") (Special thanks to those who have already been helping out.)
