PC-cillin Update for New Pattern File Numbering (NPF)¡@
According to Trendmicro, all new Trendmicro products use a new multi-digit format (New Pattern File Numbering) for displaying the numbers of pattern files. Customers using older products must either update or apply the Service Pack as soon as possible to ensure receipt of new multi-digit format pattern (n.nnn.nn).

Trend Micro will phase out support for the old pattern file format with the release of old pattern file #980, which is currently estimated to take place during the July-September 2004 timeframe. The Pattern dated 19 June 2004 is #909.

From the above table, Only PC-cillin 2002 v9.06, PC-cillin 2003 v10.04 and PC-cillin 2004 can support New Patten File. Users of
in order to support New Pattern File. PC-cillin 2000 and 2001 cannot support New Pattern File numbering format, therefore they cannot get virus pattern file when the pattern number reaches 999. Users of PC-cillin 2000 and 2001 are advised to uninstall them and install PC-cillin 2004. Failure to act will eventually prevent these products from downloading the latest pattern files and receiving the most up-to-date protection against new computer viruses when the pattern file number reaches 999 in two or three months.
PS: Although PC-cillin 2002 v9.06 supports New Pattern File, as it is a discontinued product, users are recommended to do Major Program upgrade to PC-cillin 2004 (same as the PC-cillin 2000 and 2001)
