成立大專罷課關注組事宜

六月九日，民間人權陣線發起遊行以反對政府推行的逃犯條例修訂草案，一百零三萬人上街表達訴求。然而政府於當晚發表聲明，表示仍會繼續推行逃犯條例修訂草案，進行二讀。政府漠視市民訴求，因而掀起反修例風波。

時至今日，民間的五大訴求（全面撤回逃犯條例、成立獨立調查委員會、收回暴動定性、撤銷對抗爭者的無理控罪，及落實雙普選）仍然未獲政府回應，故風波仍未平息。

開學在即，大專學界發起罷課運動，以向政府繼續表達訴求。同時學界亦希望各系會成立罷課關注組，以便欲參與罷課運動的學生接收相關資訊。有見及此，本會決定成立大專罷課關注組，並在能力範圍內為對此關注的同學提供相關協助。

On 9th June, Civil Human Rights Front launched a march against the Extradition Bill suggested by the government. 1030 thousand residents joined the activity. However, the government issued a statement that they would continue the Second Reading of the bill. They ignored the aspiration of people and, as a result, the protest was started.

The major five appeals (withdrawing Extradition Bill completely, setting up an independent commission of inquiry, retracting the proclamation that protests were riots, withdrawing criminal charges against all protesters, and implementing Dual Universal Suffrage) were still being ignored by the government until now. Therefore, the protests still go on.

Our summer vacation is nearly over but the social issue is not. In order to let the demands be heard, the Student’s Unions of Higher Institutions suggested class boycotting. They also requesting all faculty and department societies to set up class boycotting awareness groups for students to receive information. After consideration, we decided to do so, and provide as much support as we can.
